As I enter 2010 I can look back at 2009 as a year of experiences. I really entered the music reviewing scene at blogcritics this year focusing on mainly electronica acts.
I started with the familiar though and my first CD review was for a new one by a favorite band, The Odds:
Following that I decided on a 1-2 punch and reviewed the new Crystal Method CD, Divided by Night, and the tour.
Getting into a very electronica mood and loving the concert scene in Montreal I went again and saw Underworld live (amazing concert).
Following that I looked at the slightly underwhelming but still good new Paul Oakenfold studio album. Paul Oakenfold: Perfecto Vegas Review
I finished off seeing electronica acts for the year with an amazing Tiësto concert in Montreal. He played for over five hours and it was phenomenal.
I did attend one last show which is more of a classical act then electronica, but it was not quite mainstream. Star Wars in Concert was a highlight of the year for me and made me care for the series again in a way I haven’t for a while Star Wars in Concert in Ottawa It was a great year for me musically and I feel very lucky for all the opportunities I have had and looking forward to a great 2010.
